The National AIDS Control Organisation (NACO) operates under the division of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, to manage the AIDS epidemic in India. In January 2010, NACO formally approved the TeachAIDS animated materials for use in India. NACO has taken the initiative to replicate the TeachAIDS animated materials locally and disseminate them as part of their larger national awareness campaign. The TeachAIDS materials will be implemented as part of NACO’s in-school and out-of-school youth programs.

Founded in 1986, NACO has established 35 HIV and AIDS prevention and control societies across all Indian states and Union Territories to respond most appropriately and coordinate a national response.
