For World AIDS Day 2013, TeachAids is unveiling eight new previews of our HIV education animations. Available in four languages, the new animated software will star 16 celebrated icons who represent each region’s most recognized names, all who have graciously donated their voices and likenesses to the new educational tools. The full versions of the animated software will be available in 2014.

We have just finished a series of media launches across India (photos), where sneak peeks of the software trailers were released in the states of Assam (pop. 31MM), Odisha (pop. 42MM), Karnataka (pop. 61MM), and Tamil Nadu (pop. 72MM). Media coverage included: Times of India, The Hindu, Yugabda, New India Express, Business Standard, India Glitz, One India Entertainment, The Telegraph, Deccan Chronicle, among others.
Notably, we have secured distribution agreements to target all of these regions, addressing more than 100 million people. In addition to receiving support from India’s National AIDS Control Organization, we have received government approvals across all 4 states in which these languages are most prominent. The states of Karnataka, Odisha, Assam, and Tamil Nadu have committed to distribute between 20,000-30,000 copies of the animated software across their schools, colleges, hospitals, counseling facilities, and NGOs — for free. In addition, a number of television stations have agreed to televise the animations to educate the masses.
To support these efforts, both Chief Ministers Tarun Gogoi and Naveen Patnaik graciously invited TeachAids to their respective homes to record a “Message of Hope” for their people that will be incorporated into the animated software. Both have also formally endorsed the TeachAids curriculum for their respective states.
We dedicate this year’s success to our dear friend and co-founder, Professor Clifford Nass (Apr. 1958- Nov. 2013). It is his brilliance that gave birth to TeachAids and allows us to shine, and it is through his teachings that millions will continue to learn.
