Disney’s Top Marketing and Strategy Maverick joins TeachAids as an Advisor
After 14-years of experience, marketing maven Asad Ayaz became the President of Marketing at The Walt Disney Studios. Ayaz oversees all marketing operations from strategy to creative, media, digital, promotions, publicity and collaboration for all Disney, Walt Disney Animation, Pixar, Marvel Studios, and Lucasfilm releases. Ayaz is known for bringing Disney films to some of the largest audiences of all time. The most recent blockbusters include “Incredibles 2” and “Black Panther“.
Earlier in his career, Ayaz served as the executive vice president where he led global campaigns for “The Avengers” and “Iron Man 3“, both of which went on to gross over a billion dollars and rank in the top 10 highest grossing films of all time. The Avengers holds the record for the highest domestic opening weekend of all time with $207.4 million.
Ayaz also drove the strategy, development, and execution of marketing campaigns for three of the five highest grossing films domestically: Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier“, “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Maleficent“. Captain America and Guardians of the Galaxy both set records opening at $95 million and $94 million respectively and Guardians of the Galaxy was the highest grossing film of the year in North America, closing in on $600 million worldwide.
