USA Baseball Team Physician Joins TeachAids
TeachAids is proud to announce that USA Baseball Team Physician Dr. Josh Bloom is joining the TeachAids team as a Medical Advisor! Dr. Bloom is an integral part of the USA Baseball Medical/Safety Advisory Committee, North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) Sports Medicine Advisory Committee, and North Carolina Brain Injury Advisory Council.
Growing up in a small town in Colorado, sports were always very important — an idea that has stuck with Bloom through the years. In his youth, he was a state champion wrestler as well as an All-State linebacker in high school. Afterwards, he completed his Bachelor’s degree at Dartmouth College, where he was also honored as an Academic All-American linebacker and MVP.
Dr. Bloom is currently a partner physician at Carolina Family Practice & Sports Medicine and Medical Director of the Carolina Sports Concussion Clinic. The purpose of this organization is to spread awareness and provide education on concussion prevention and management in North Carolina. Their goal to return patients to their daily activities and responsibilities as soon as possible. Bloom also serves as the Medical Director for the Carolina Hurricanes (NHL) as well as Team Physician for USA Baseball and Apex Friendship High School.
His drive to give back and educate young athletes is evident in his involvement on campuses across the country. He holds clinical faculty positions in the Department of Family Medicine at UNC School of Medicine and the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Duke University.
We are beyond grateful to have Dr. Bloom join us and donate his extensive medical expertise on concussions.
