TeachAids Founder, Dr. Piya Sorcar, to be Honored at the 37th Annual YWCA Golden Gate Silicon Valley Tribute to Women Awards
TeachAids proudly announces that its Founder, Dr. Piya Sorcar, will be honored at the 37th Annual YWCA Golden Gate Silicon Valley Tribute to Women Awards, presented by Cisco during a virtual event Thursday, May 13, 2021, 6:00 – 7:00 PM (PST). Registration to the event is free at bit.ly/Tribute2021 and viewers can join from anywhere. The Awards recognize the achievements of women who have excelled in their fields and have made significant contributions to Silicon Valley through their dedication and leadership.
Dr. Sorcar founded the non-profit, TeachAids, approximately 11 years ago and first worked to develop and distribute HIV education in 82 countries. More recently, TeachAids has developed a database for COVID-19 education and information and has produced impactful Concussion Education to address one of the greatest challenges facing modern sport. In this latter undertaking, partners have included the Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA), the Stanford Program on International and Cross-Cultural Education (SPICE), the National Council of Youth Sports (NYCS), and 21 National Governing Bodies of the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee. Further valuable collaboration has included the VA Palo Alto Health Care System.
“TeachAids could never have accomplished so much in the Global Health field without the incredible vision, leadership and daily example of CEO, Dr. Piya Sorcar. Few could ever dream of accomplishments having such an impact not only on the world, but all the way down to the local level. Those of us who have been touched by the magic of Dr. Sorcar join together to celebrate this incredible human being. The YWCA could not have selected a better example of a woman who truly and so selflessly has been able to make such a difference.” Offers TeachAids Vice Chair, Dick Gould.
Congratulations Piya! Thank you for all of the incredible work that you have done for this organization, and the world it supports.
