Authors Matt Cook and Jon Zhang recently interviewed our co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Piya Sorcar, in their book The Startup Star. Published by the Business Association of Stanford Entrepreneurial Students (BASES), one of the largest student entrepreneurship groups in the world, The Startup Star provides insider advice from leaders of Silicon Valley to students interested in pursuing a career in entrepreneurship. This practical guidebook is designed to help aspiring entrepreneurs develop business strategies and acquire resources to start successful companies or social movements.
Dr. Sorcar was one of the several entrepreneurial thought leaders in Silicon Valley, including John Hennessy, the tenth president of Stanford University; Dr. Tom Byers, the former Vice President of Symantec Corporation and co-director of the Stanford Technology Ventures Program; Guy Kawasaki, a founding partner at Garage Technology Ventures, cofounder of Alltop.com, and former Apple Fellow; and Joe Lonsdale, a cofounder of Palantir Technologies and founder of Addepar.
The Business Association of Stanford Entrepreneurial Students includes faculty members from the Stanford schools of Business, Engineering, Law, Medicine, Humanities, and Science, as well as Stanford undergraduate and graduate students. BASES will utilize The Startup Star to help educate the next generation of entrepreneurs.
