Vinod Dham, Father of the Pentium Chip, donates to TeachAids
Known as the “Father of the Pentium Chip” for his role in the development of the Intel Pentium Processor, Indian-American inventor, businessman, and venture capitalist Vinod Dham generously donated $10,000 to TeachAids after learning about the scope and initiative of its global efforts.
Born in Pune, India, Dham came to study in the United States with only $8 in his pocket. After gaining a master’s degree in solid-state sciences from the University of Cincinnati, Dham joined NCR Corporation where he worked on non-volatile memory. Soon after, he met Bill Johnson, a Director at Intel, who eventually brought Dham there. It was there that Dham co-invented Intel’s flash memory technology.
After 16 years, in 1995, Dham left Intel and entered the startup world, working with NexGen (acquired by AMD for $800 million) and Silicon Spice (acquired by Broadcom for $1.2 billion). He then founded cross-border incubator NewPath Ventures in Santa Clara, California. Subsequently, he founded an India-focused early stage VC fund, IndoUS Venture Partners.
TeachAids would like to thank Mr. Dham and his wife, Mrs. Dolly Dham, for their generous support of our efforts as we continue to expand our ventures worldwide.
