Bob Bowlsby, one of the most respected athletic leaders in the nation, joins TeachAids on its latest concussion education initiative, CrashCourse. Bowlsby has been instrumental in transforming college athletics and supporting student-athlete wellbeing.
Bowlsby’s investments in student-athletes have been awe-inspiring. Under his leadership, the Big-12 has won 19 National Championships and over 120 NCAA individual event titles. Additionally, seventeen Big-12 teams finished runners-up in NCAA competitions and six played in College Football Playoff New Year’s Bowl games. Bowlsby also secured one of the most lucrative media deals in collegiate athletics during his tenure.
Before the Big-12, Bowlsby spent six years as the Athletic Director at Stanford University. The Stanford Athletics department sponsors 35 sports varsity sports and has claimed an unprecedented 17 consecutive Learfield Sports Directors Cups–emblematic of the nation’s top overall athletics program. Bowlsby directed at the University of Iowa for 15 years before Stanford. In his last four years, he oversaw the merger of Iowa’s men’s and women’s athletic departments that included 24 varsity sports.
Bowlsby has served on the NCAA Division I Council, the United States Olympic Committee Board of Directors, and the Commission of Opportunities in Athletics, which reviewed the first 30 years of Title IX. He sits on the National Advisory Board of Positive Coaching Alliance as well.
TeachAids is excited to welcome Bob Bowlsby to the CrashCourse Advisory team as we work to improve the health and safety of young athletes across the country.
Bob Bowlsby is one of the very most respected and able administrators in College Athletics and beyond. CrashCourse is significantly stronger with his support and guidance as an active “Advisor.”
