TeachAids receives the Lena Kay Rufus Memorial Scholarship Fund of The Lutheran Community Foundation
The Lena Kay Rufus Memorial Scholarship Fund of the Lutheran Community Foundation has granted TeachAids a gracious monetary gift. Lena Kay Rufus attended Stanford University from 1999 until she passed away in March 2003. She dedicated her studies to the psychological ramifications of global corporations and their partnerships with indigenous peoples. Lena also had a strong interest in AIDS prevention and sexual health, and as evidenced by her active role in Stanford’s UN Film Festival, she understood and appreciated the power of using film to educate people on social issues. Beyond the classroom, Lena was a cabinet member of the Associated Students of Stanford University, a representative to the 58th Annual Session of National Congress of American Indians, and a Civil Rights Summer Fellow to Harvard University’s Leadership Conference on Civil Rights.
TeachAids is truly honored to have received this gift in memory of a young woman so dedicated to and inspired by social change.
