TeachAids Wishes Ambassador Katie Ledecky Our Best in Preparation for the 2020 Olympics
Katie Ledecky is a five-time Olympic gold medalist and 14-time World Champion, breaking the record for female swimmers. We are so proud to welcome her to our CrashCourse ambassador team.
Ledecky began swimming when she was 6 years old, following the footsteps of her older brother. She quickly established herself as a powerhouse in the water. At the age of 15, Ledecky won her first gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics. Four years later, she went on to become the most decorated female athlete at the Rio Olympics. She has broken World Records 14 times and American Records 36 times, has been named female World Swimmer of the Year an unprecedented five times, and USOC Female Athlete of the Year a record three times. She is already the youngest inductee ever into both the D.C. Sports Hall of Fame and the Maryland Women’s Hall of Fame.
Most recently, Ledecky claimed her fourth gold in a row for the 800 free style at the 2019 FINA World Championships. She also swims for DC Trident in the International Swimming League, and is currently studying Psychology at Stanford University. We look forward to seeing her compete at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and beyond.
We are excited to be working with Ledecky to improve head safety for youth athletes nationwide. Her passion for sport is an inspiration, and we look forward to the impact we can make together.
