Tom Holmoe, a college athletics administrator and former football player and coach, will contribute his expertise to TeachAids’ concussion education efforts as a member of the CrashCourse advisory board.
Tom Holmoe played as a cornerback for the Brigham Young Cougars from 1978 to 1982. In his four seasons at BYU, Holmoe helped The Cougars win each conference championship. In his senior year, he was awarded Western Athletic Conference honors. Holmoe graduated in 1983 and later received a master’s degree in Athletic Administration.
After graduation, Tom Holmoe played professionally in the National Football League, winning three Super Bowls with the San Francisco 49ers. In 1992, he accepted an offer to join the athletics staff at Stanford University as a defensive backs coach, where he remained for two seasons. Holmoe then served as the head football coach at the University of California, Berkeley from 1997 to 2001.
Tom Holmoe was named as the Director of Athletics at Brigham Young University in 2005 and has remained in this position to this day. Since his appointment, he has overseen BYU’s 21 intercollegiate sports, leading student-athletes to 120 conference championships and more than 275 All-America titles.
We are inspired by Tom Homoe’s dedication and leadership in athletics and proud to welcome him to the CrashCourse team.
