TeachAids is proud to announce that Dr. Dan Daneshvar has received the Dean’s Community Service Award from Harvard Medical School for his work on the CrashCourse initiative at TeachAids.
The Dean’s Community Service Award is presented to those who make outstanding personal efforts to serve their community. Few exemplify this quality better than Dr. Daneshvar. He is known worldwide for his research on the long-term effects of concussions and repetitive head impacts and leads TeachAids’ Institute for Brain Research and Innovation. His work was integral in creating the CrashCourse suite of concussion education programs, which has been curated by hundreds of interdisciplinary experts skilled in fields including health, education, design, and technology, and is now available for free to the global community. Dr. Daneshvar’s work, along with the volunteer efforts of thousands of other experts and community members, exemplifies the spirit which allows TeachAids to succeed.
“Dr. Daneshvar is an invaluable part of our core team. His dedication and passionate spirit have raised the bar for how organizations should design and implement research-based education. We are grateful to Harvard Medical School for recognizing Dr. Daneshvar in this special manner. He is most deserving!” said Dr. Piya Sorcar, Founder and CEO of TeachAids.
“Since the launch of our first concussion program three years ago, our scientifically-validated programs have been adopted by partner organizations representing tens of millions of youth athletes across the country. This tremendous work is a testament to everyone at TeachAids, and it is truly a privilege to receive this award on behalf of the entire TeachAids team,” added Dr. Daneshvar.
The 2021 Dean’s Community Service Awards Virtual Ceremony will take place today at 4pm EDT. Harvard Medical School will donate $1,000 to TeachAids as part of the award ceremony.
Aside from leading our Brain Research Institute and supporting the development of CrashCourse, Dr. Daneshvar has established key partnerships and collaborations with expert advisors; he regularly represents TeachAids and our CrashCourse programs in the press.
