Actress Anushka Shetty joins TeachAids
Telugu and Tamil film actress Anushka Shetty has joined the TeachAids team. The talented heroine will be featured in the role of the female doctor in the Telugu animated tutorial.
Anushka Shetty has been acting in Telugu films since 2005, and rose to the top with her debut in Puri Jagannath’s movie Super alongside leading hero Nagarjuna. Soon after, she acted as the leading lady in several productions, including S.S. Rajamouli’s Vikramarkudu, starring opposite Ravi Teja. In 2007, she again starred alongside Nagarjuna in Raghava Lawrence’s Don production. All three of these films were incredibly popular and brought Anushka into the limelight, making her a super star among the masses in Andhra Pradesh, India, which has a population of over 76 million.
More recently, Shetty starred in the critically and commercially successful fantasy Telugu film Arundati in 2009. Her highly acclaimed performance as the protagonist Jejamma in this heroine-centric film won her her first Nandi Award, which is presented annually by the Andhra Pradesh State Government as a cultural symbol of the state. Her second Tamil feature film, B. Babusivan’s Vettaikkaaran, was a 2009 Tamil Blockbuster production and placed her in the role of Susheela, for which she won the Vijay Award for Favourite Heroine. She is currently acting in the Tamil film Singam, and her Telugu films Vedam, Panchakshari, and Kaleja are all scheduled to release in 2010.
