2018: The Year of Expansion
The end of 2018 marks a major milestone in the history of TeachAids.
Our Name and Identity: From “TeachAIDS” to “TeachAids”
Most people don’t know this, but the original name of our organization was Interactive Teaching Aids, complete with the domain interactiveteachingaids.org. Our purpose was always to use our research-based design approach to create “teaching aids” which would solve challenging education problems. Since our original domain was somewhat long, we shortened it to teachaids.org. And as our first software was for HIV education, we decided to enhance that by branding as TeachAIDS with “AIDS” capitalized. The materials we developed went on to be used in 82 countries around the world. This year, with the addition of our first new topic beyond HIV education—concussion education—we are reverting to our origins and are now simply “TeachAids”.
