Actress Anu Choudhury joins education efforts in Odisha

Leading Odia actress, Anu Choudhury, has graciously joined TeachAids as the voice of the female student in the Odia language version of the software. Choudhury stars alongside legendary Odissi dancer Aruna Mohanty, who plays the female doctor. Together, this dynamite team helps bring HIV education to the millions of individuals who speak Odia.
Choudhury has starred in more than 50 films across the Odisha and Bengali film industries. Born in Bhubaneswar to a prominent film editor, Choudhury was exposed to cinema from an early age and played child roles in several films. After graduation from university in 1998, she debuted as the leading actress in Maa Gojabayani, for which she received critical acclaim and commercial success.
Choudhury is a four-time winner of the Odisha State Film Award for Best Actress for Gare Sindura Dhare Luha, Om Shanti Om, Sasu Ghara Chalijibi, and Rakhi Bandhili Mo Rakhiba Mana. Sasu Ghara Chalijibi was produced by the famous Rajshri Productions and co-starred Siddhanta Mahapatra. She has also acted alongside internationally acclaimed actress Nandita Das in the movie Biswaprakash, which won the National Film Award in the best regional film category. Choudhury played opposite famous actor Prasenjit Chatterjee in her first Bengali film Surya, which was released in 2004. She has also worked with talented director Nila Madhab Panda in a Bollywood film titled Love is Not Mathematics.
TeachAids is pleased to welcome Anu Choudhury to our team of cultural icons. Her tremendous talent and huge following will bring credibility to the development and launch of the Odia language version of the TeachAids software. With the formal approval of Odisha’s state government and formal endorsement of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the TeachAids Odia language versions will be accessible to the state of more than 41 million people.
