Betsy Scolnik is the CEO and Chief Consultant of Scolnik Enterprises, a company that specializes in global content distribution and communications strategy. With deep gratitude, the TeachAids team welcomes her to the CrashCourse advisory committee.
Scolnik is no stranger to the nonprofit sector — before she started her own company, Scolnik worked for the world’s leading commercial and philanthropic organizations. As the Director of Content and Distribution for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, she oversaw the foundation’s content and distribution strategies, production efforts, and digital presence. Under her leadership, the foundation received a Webby Award, a distinction acknowledging best practices in the use of social media for philanthropic purposes from Twitter. Scolnik also spearheaded TED Women, serving as an Organizer.
Scolnik’s significant leadership experience dates back even further, when she served as the President of Digital Media for National Geographic. In this role, she directed digital sales operations, NationalGeographic.com and its digital extensions. She also spearheaded the company’s initiatives in the wireless, video game, broadband, and education markets. With her leadership, NationalGeographic.com received Webby Awards, Emmy Award nominations for their short form productions, and an increase in monthly digital distribution from below 1 million to above 12 million.
With this illustrious career in audience targeting and distribution, Scolnik has the breadth of knowledge required for impact in a multi-platform world. We are honored to have Scolnik as a part of the CrashCourse advisory team.
