TeachAids extends a warm congratulations to Chris Miltenberg for the incredible success of the Stanford Men’s Track and Field Program. This year, they were honored as the John McDonnell Division I Men’s Program of the Year for their accomplishments in cross country, and indoor and outdoor track and field. Miltenberg played a huge role in their achievements, coaching the men’s cross country team and overseeing the entire Track and Field program as the Franklin P. Johnson Director of Track and Field.
A track star from a young age, Miltenberg was a two-time All-American and ran professionally for a year with Adidas before coaching at Columbia University and Georgetown University. In 2012, Chris Miltenberg was named Stanford Director of Track & Field and head cross-country coach. Twice voted the Pac-12 Men’s Coach of the Year, Miltenberg’s cross country teams have racked up a Pac-12 championship, four region titles, six NCAA podium finishes, and 14 NCAA team appearances.
This year, both men’s and women’s cross country teams placed among the NCAA top 5, and the men’s indoor track and field team placed fourth, with their highest point total since 2000. The joint accomplishments of the men’s cross country, and indoor and outdoor track and field teams earned them the distinction of best program in the nation during the 2018-19 season. This is the second such honor that Stanford Track and Field has achieved under Miltenberg’s leadership: the Stanford women’s program received the Terry Crawford Program of the Year Award in June 2018.
We are so proud and honored to have such an accomplished coach on our advisory team. We hope to bring Miltenberg’s drive and coaching expertise to our efforts to ensure the health and safety of youth athletes nationwide.
So proud of what Chris has accomplished at Stanford! And feel fortunate to have him as a valued Advisor on our TeachAids CrashCourse Concussion Education te.
