Health Literacy and Disparities Expert Joins TeachAids as Advisor
TeachAids is pleased to welcome Dr. Lee M. Sanders to our team of Advisors. Dr. Sanders’s expertise in pediatrics, health literacy, and health disparities will be a valuable asset towards the mission of TeachAids in advancing global health.
Dr. Sanders is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics, Co-Director of the Center for Policy, Outcomes and Prevention, and the Division Chief for General Pediatrics at Stanford University.
With funding from the NIH, CDC, and other organizations, Dr. Sanders directs the Stanford Health Literacy Lab, which seeks to address disparities in pediatric well-being (including obesity, chronic illness, and educational achievement), by reimagining primary care and social systems to support families. Through this lab, he also leads multi-disciplinary teams that provide policy guidance at the local, state and national levels. He has served as an advisor to several national organizations, such as the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Cancer Society, Institute of Medicine, CDC, and FDA. At Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital and the Gardner Packard Children’s Health Center, he is a primary care provider to children with medical and/or social complexity.
Dr. Sanders earned their MPH at the University of California, Berkeley and their MD at the Stanford University School of Medicine. Prior to their graduate study, they received their BA in History and Science from Harvard University.
Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Dr. Sanders as they join our efforts at TeachAids.
