Media and Social Entrepreneurship Expert Rachel Sklar Joins TeachAids as an Advisor
TeachAids is delighted to announce that Rachel Sklar will be joining our team of Advisors. Her vast experience in media, technology, and social entrepreneurship will be of great value to TeachAids as we continue to maintain our programs and develop additional innovations in health education technology.
Rachel Sklar is a CNN Contributor, writer, media blogger, and social entrepreneur based in New York. She is the co-founder of Change The Ratio and TheLi.st, which increase visibility and opportunity for women in technology and new media. A former lawyer who writes about media, politics, culture and technology, she was a founding editor at Mediaite and the Huffington Post. Sklar is a Techstars mentor and an advisor to several startups, including Vox Media, Siftee, Lover.ly, in addition to many others.
Sklar will be assisting TeachAids with critical marketing and PR efforts to further our mission of delivering innovative health education for everyone in every place. Her background in media and innovation will be tremendously helpful as we continue to expand our educational resources to every corner of the globe.
Sklar graduated with honors from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, also doing so as the class valedictorian. She was named to the Silicon Alley 100 in 2009, 2010 and 2011, FastCompany’s “League of Extraordinary Women” and has earned numerous honors and awards over the course of her writing career.
