TeachAids Ambassador Nneka Ogwumike Re-elected WNBA President
Congratulations to TeachAids ambassador and Los Angeles Sparks forward Nneka Ogwumike for being re-elected as president of the Women’s National Basketball Association. First elected in 2016, Ogwumike and her vice president Laysha Clarendon are credited with increasing player engagement with the WNBA and creating a Board of Advocates full of successful business and entertainment professionals.
Ogwumike is a leader on and off the field. She has accrued numerous honors in the basketball world – number 1 overall pick in the 2012 WNBA draft, WNBA champion, 2018 WNBA MVP, and World Cup champion, – just to name a few. This past year, she was awarded with the Kim Perrot Sportsmanship Award for her integrity on the court. As WNBA president, she also advocates for improvements within the league, including pay equity, player experience, and the health and safety of her fellow players.
We are so proud of what Nneka Ogwumike has done, and will continue to do for the WNBA and the future of women’s basketball.
