San Francisco AIDS Foundation selects TeachAids as 2011 grant recipient
The San Francisco AIDS Foundation recently selected TeachAids as a 2011 HIV/AIDS Community Grant recipient. Established in 1982 amidst the burgeoning HIV pandemic in San Francisco, the foundation has worked vigilantly over the last thirty years to confront HIV in vulnerable communities through advocacy, education, and treatment services. In order to reduce the number of new HIV infections annually, SF AIDS supports selected organizations in the Bay Area in their development and outreach efforts.
In partnership with the Stanford Program on International and Cross-Cultural Education and with the support of the Teach for America organization, TeachAids has been able to make effective HIV and AIDS education materials available for free to a number of school districts in the Bay Area. These schools include Palo Alto Unified, East Side Union High School District, San Jose Unified, San Francisco Unified, Oakland Unified School District, Salinas Union High School District, Cupertino Elementary School District, Fremont Union High School District, among others.
The support of the San Francisco AIDS Foundation will enable TeachAids to continue to provide free HIV prevention education to residents of the Bay Area and global community.
We would like to thank SF AIDS for their continued support.
