The MAC AIDS Fund donates in support of TeachAids
Since its inception in 1994, the MAC AIDS Fund has contributed millions to support innovative and effective organizations around the world pursuing HIV outreach efforts. The organization seeks to address social determinants affecting the HIV/AIDS epidemic such as stigma, sexual violence, domestic abuse, racism, and poverty. In collaboration with MAC Cosmetics, the fund donates the proceeds of their VIVA GLAM collection, which has been endorsed by numerous celebrities in its 17-year history. In addition to a partnership with Elton John and the Elton John AIDS Foundation in 2001, Christina Aguilera, Pamela Anderson, Missy Elliott, Linda Evangelista, Chloe Sevigny, Boy George, Fergie, and Cyndi Lauper have all represented the MAC AIDS Fund and the VIVA GLAM Collection. With the endorsement of celebrity Lady Gaga, the MAC AIDS Fund was recently featured in the Wall Street Journal and Good Morning America for their work.
With the endorsement of numerous celebrities and organizational partners, the MAC AIDS Fund seeks to provide support to vulnerable populations in particularly high-risk regions. In addition to community efforts in the United States, the fund has implemented initiatives to provide women and children with support. Recipients of MAC AIDS funding have included The United Nations Development Programme, an international organization aimed at achieving the United Nations Millennium Development Goals through the alleviation of poverty, as well as the William J. Clinton Foundation. MAC AIDS currently works as an organizational partner with the United Nations Foundation and has an ongoing partnership with the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, which serves as a national partner and supporter of TeachAids in South Africa.
MAC AIDS Fund has maintained a commitment to mitigate the HIV/AIDS epidemic through education and HIV prevention. TeachAids is honored to have the support of the MAC AIDS Fund and looks forward to our continued collaboration to eradicate HIV through prevention.
