World Renowned Economist Dr. Martin Carnoy Joins TeachAids as an Advisor
We are proud to announce that Dr. Martin Carnoy will be joining our team of Advisors at TeachAids. Dr. Carnoy’s extensive experience working with international organizations and in education and economics will be of great importance to our mission in advancing health within all borders and communities.
Dr. Carnoy is the Vida Jacks Professor of Education and Economics at Stanford University. He serves as a Consultant to a variety of organizations including the World Bank, UNESCO, UNICEF, among others. He is a Member of both the National Academy of Education and the International Academy of Education.
Much of Dr. Carnoy’s work is comparative and international, and investigates the impact of global economic and social change on the way educational systems are organized. He is the author of various books including, Sustaining the New Economy: Work, Family and Community in the Information Age (Harvard, 2000), The Charter School Dust-Up (co-author, 2005); Cuba’s Academic Advantage (2007), and Vouchers and Public School Performance (2007). His writing focuses on the economic value of education, the political economy of educational policy, and the financing and resource allocation aspects of educational production.
He earned his MA and Ph.D. in economics from the University of Chicago in 1961 and 1964 respectively. Prior to that, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology.
